How to Obtain Power From the Kappa Yokai in Ghostwire Tokyo

The Kappa can be found in certain regions of the world, with a gear-like symbol representing their presence on the in-game map. First encountered as part of a side quest, they will start appearing in the world after that.

  1. Find a pedestal within the surrounding area.

  2. Use a cucumber as bait.

    Be sure to always have some in your inventory, and you can use them when you need to.

  3. The Kappa will appear and players will need to hide to avoid detection

    Using Spectral Vision, keep track of where the Kappa is moving towards, and keep out of sight.

  4. It will lower its guard and start eating the cucumber.

  5. Sneak up behind it, and obtain its power.

    Hold down L2/left trigger to start the process.

This rewards you with the vital Magatama. After you’ve completed this, you can now track down the other Kappa throughout the map.
