Announced a couple years back, Ghost of Tsushima is the latest game from Sucker Punch Productions and it’s finally releasing exclusively for the PS4 this month. The game takes place during the late 13th century, where the island of Tsushima has been invaded by the Mongols. Players take control of a samurai named Jin, who is resolved to protect his clan and homeland from the invasion. If you’re wondering whether it’s possible to beat the first boss, Khotan Khun, in Ghost of Tsushima, here’s what you need to know.
Can You Beat the First Boss (Khotun Khan) in Ghost of Tsushima?
In short, no. It’s impossible to defeat Khotun Khan in the intro portion of the game. He serves as the first boss you’ll face in Ghost of Tsushima, and while the game does do a good job of teaching you the combat basics during this part, when you come up against him, it’s pretty much impossible to break his guard or do any real damage to him.
As part of the story, Jin will lose this fight no matter what, and this loss will kickstart his quest to rescue his uncle while recruiting valuable allies to his side and employing new tactics to take down the khan. It certainly does seem possible to evade Khotun Khan’s attacks (though doing so is pretty tough, considering that he has many multi-hit combos), but at the end of the day, no matter how well you perform, the game will still dictate that Jin has to lose this fight and fall off the bridge.
In short, don’t bother trying to fight him. Losing the battle will allow you to quickly move on to the next part of the story.
That’s all you need to know about whether you can beat the first boss (Khotun Khan) in Ghost of Tsushima. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
