Lord Jin Sakai is an honorable warrior who has been raised by the samurai’s code of conduct. But to defeat the Mongol invasion that threatens his beloved homeland, he’ll have to embrace tactics that would normally be despised and condemned by the Shogun. Here’s how to assassinate enemies in Ghost of Tsushima.
How to Assassinate Enemies in Ghost of Tsushima
Performing an assassination in Ghost of Tsushima is very simple and intuitive. All you need to do is sneak up on your enemy and hit square when the prompt appears. Typically, you’ll be doing this from behind, but you can also assassinate enemies from the side or even in front if you take them unawares quickly enough.
But if you’re looking up this guide then you probably haven’t yet unlocked assassinations. Jin will not be able to stealthily kill enemies until an hour or two into the game, at least, when he meets up with Yuna and she insists he uses stealth tactics that go against everything he has been taught as a samurai.
So, if you’re in the very early stages of the game and you’re wondering why there is no stealth assassination option when sneaking behind enemies, that is why. Go and seek out Yuna and progress the story to make the option available to you.
When you have done, you’ll later be able to upgrade your assassination ability to “chain assassinate,” which gives Jin the chance to kill multiple enemies at once in stealthy fashion by pressing triangle. This is a Technique acquired from the Ghost section of the skill tree.
