Is Genshin Impact Coming to PS5? Here’s Your Answer

Yes, Genshin Impact has been confirmed as coming to PlayStation’s next console, PS5. Earlier this week Twinfinite spoke with developer miHoYo and quizzed the team on that very topic. We were given the following answer:

We have plans regarding next-gen consoles, and we will be announcing them as these plans take shape. We do not currently have plans to release the game on Xbox.

So there you have it. Plans are already in the works to bring the game into the new console generation, though only to Sony’s system by the sound of it.

Update 04/16/2021: Genshin Impact’s PS5 release has been confirmed and dated for April 28, 2021. The new version will include 4K support, as well as DualSense functionality. Details here.

Of course, plans are always fluid in the video game industry and it could well be that miHoYo ends up bringing the game to Microsoft’s new console. As it stands, though, Genshin Impact is a PS5 next-gen console exclusive.

As you will have read above, there’s obviously no confirmed release date yet. We’ll be sure to keep you posted as we hear more from miHoYo in the coming months.

For now, that’s everything there is to know about whether Genshin Impact is coming to PS5. For more tips and guides on the game, be sure to keep it locked on Twinfinite. You should also see some related content below that may prove useful.
