Genshin Impact Masterless Stardust & Starglitter: How to Get & What They Do

genshin impact, stardust, starglitter, masterless

Genshin Impact throws a whole bunch of different currencies and special items at you within the first few hours of playing. It’s pretty overwhelming, honestly, and isn’t helped by a lack of clear information about each one. Here’s how to get Stardust & Starglitter in Genshim Impact and what they are both used for.

What Masterless Stardust & Starglitter Are Used For

Stardust and Starglitter are currency items that are used at the Shop in Genshin Impact. Specifically, they are used on the Paimon’s Deals section of the Shop, which you can access by pressing Options (or equivalent button), then cycling to Paimon’s Deals, then pressing L1/R1 to tab across to either Exchange Stardust/Starglitter.

Here, you’ll be able to liquidate the Stardust/Starglitter you have in exchange for valuable items. That includes new characters, weapons, and items.

As you can see in the above image, there are limited quantities of each item, and they all require you to have reached a certain Adventure Rank before you can purchase.

In our experience, Starglitter is harder to come by than Stardust. That being said, this might just be down to luck…

How to Get Masterless Stardust & Masterless Starglitter in Genshin Impact

And that leads us into how you actually get Stardust/Starglitter, which is, as you might have guessed from our luck reference above, down to the Wish mechanic. This Genshin Impact’s gacha monetization system, which is basically like a dice roll or the opening of a loot box.

For every Wish you purchase (with Acquint or Intertwined Fate), you’ll be rewarded with a bunch of different items, including new characters, weapons, items, etc. On occasion, these items will grant you an extra bonus of Masterless Stardust or Masterless Starglitter, as seen below.

So, they’re basically another currency to reinvest into Wishes so that you can get more loot.

Remember, using a Wish gets you loot. Wishes cost Primogem. Primogem costs Gensis Crystals, which is the premium currency.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll only get Stardust/Starglitter by spending money. Everything in Genshin Impact can be accumulated organically. It just takes longer.

Pro tip: Always check your mail for currency rewards. Also, make sure you tick off your daily challenges and quests, farm domains, and open chests, too.

That should be everything you need to know about how to get Masterless Stardust & Starglitter in Genshim Impact and what they are both used for. For more useful information on the game, check out our guide wiki.
