Rules & Overview

First off, you’ll need to accept the Windtrace quest in the quest menu, then speak to Katheryne at the Adventurer’s Guild. She’ll send you over to a man named Gygax in Mondstadt.

Gygax will quickly explain the rules of the game, but we’ll go over them and explain how to play right here. Windtrace is essentially Prop Hunt — a game where one player (a Hunter) searches for other players (Rebels) who are disguised as random inanimate objects within a small designated area.

The Hunter moves faster, uses less stamina, and can use Windward Arts to make finding Rebels much easier. Rebels can also use Windward Arts though, which helps them disguise themselves, trick Hunters with bait, and even turn invisible temporarily.

As you play, Favors will appear at random locations. These Favors look like glowing clouds and can charge Secret Favor, allowing players to use special moves to help with their objectives.

How to Play Windtrace With Friends

Seeing as how Windtrace is a co-op event, knowing how to play with friends is important. Simply join your friend’s world or have them join yours, then speak to Gygax to start up a game of Windtrace in a custom co-op party. This can only be done with a group of up to four players since four is the max party member count.

Rewards & Event Shop

As you play the event, you’ll earn Windtrace Coins that can be used to purchase Primogems, Mora, character level-up materials, talent level-up materials, and weapon enhancement materials. However, it should be noted that you can’t actually earn event coins while playing in custom co-op matches, presumably because friends could just let each other win.

There are also specific challenges that can be done to earn even more Mora. Each completed challenge will reward 30,000 Mora upon completion.
