Even if Genshin Impact offers a huge amount of content totally free of charge, its gacha system is and will always feel a little egregious. You’re encouraged to spend money on what is essentially a slot machine that may or may not reward you with useful content. Although, not in the case of its latest banner, thanks to Fate Points.

Through the use of yet another currency, and as part of a new mechanic called ‘Epitomized Path,’ you can actually guarantee yourself a 5-star pull from an Epitome Invocation Wish. Here’s how to get Fate Points in Genshin Impact.

How to Get Fate Points in Genshin Impact

As mentioned above, Fate Points allow you to guarantee a 5-Star pull from the Epitome Invocation Path via the use of the Epitomized Path mechanic. This mechanic gives you the option to choose a 5-Star wish of your preference. You will require x2 Fate Points before the third 5-Star pull is gifted to you as the item you have selected.

Accumulating Fate Points is easy in theory, but, like many activities and modes of progression in Genshin Impact, it is likely to take rather a long time. That’s because you will only gain a Fate Point for every 5-Star Wish you pull that is not the item you have chosen as part of your ‘Epitomized Path,’ and this process is entirely random — it may take you just a few pulls or it may take dozens.

So, first things first: chart a course for your Epitomized Path, then get pulling with whatever Primogems you have available. You can refer to our guide on Primogems if you’re still somehow not up to speed with how to get them quickly.
