The Dragonspine update has added a huge new area to explore in miHoYo’s popular action-RPG and with it some challenging puzzles that are a step up in complexity from what we’ve seen in the base game. Here’s how to solve the Entombed City Outskirts puzzle in Genshin Impact if you’re struggling to work it out.
Entombed City Outskirts Puzzle in Genshin Impact
The Entombed City Outskirts puzzle begins at the location I’ve highlighted above. You can access the area from a nearby Waypoint. Once you’ve arrived you’ll see several statues in a circle and a Seelie floating.
Once you’ve started the challenge, the Seelie will fly in a pattern over the locked statues, and once the statues are unlocked you’ll then have to use a Cyro character (Ice) to activate them in the exact same pattern. An easy way to remember it is that the Seelie will always fly to the statue directly opposite of the previous one.
With the correct sequence you’ll then have to fight two Ruin Guards. They’re not all that difficult — just go for an Electro/Hydro combination if you have that party composition available, since that chews threw their HP pretty quickly. You should be very used to fighting Ruin Guards by now.
With the Ruin Guards beaten, the circular ice patch will melt away and you’ll be able to descend into the cavern below. Here you’ll see a Seelie surrounded by several large ice crystals, and a central crystal in the middle requiring Rose Quartz to destroy.
First, follow the Seelie until it lights the torch at the gate shown above, then use all the Rose Quartz to smash the central crystal as low as it will go. Now, you’ll need to find the hidden Seelie.
As you can see above, it’s hidden under one of several snow patches. You can melt it with a Pyro character, such as Amber. The Seelie will then appear and you’ll then want to follow it until it ignites the second torch and opens the gate.
With the gate open, you can now go through and open two Exquisite Chests. You’ll also find another Rose Quartz you can use to finally break the central crystal back in the main area. Do so, then fight the two Ruin Guards, which are actually very low HP and easy to beat.
This will reveal a third Seelie, which will lead you out of the cavern and toward a torch and a last Exquisite Chest.
