How to Execute Rejects in Gears 5

As you make your way through the game, you’ll come across corrupted DeeBee Shepards known as Rejects. Altered by the swarm, they’re intent on ripping anyone they see – namely, you and your fellow COG soldiers – to shreds, and typically as a group no less.

As such, taking them out one by one with stealthy executions is the best way to kill them, ensuring you come out on top with as much ammo and health as possible. To do so however, you’ll need to follow some specific steps.

How to Position Yourself for a Reject Execution

When you catch a Reject unawares, you’ll first want to sneak up behind its back. Doing so will put you in the right range for a stealth kill.

Next, look down at the ground where they’re at. This will put your field of vision in the right area to trigger the Execution button prompt. Once this occurs, the option to press the B button and trigger the execution will appear.

That’s all there is to it. You can repeat the process as many times as needed, or as many times as possible before you find yourself in the field of vision of an enemy, so do your best to execute as many as possible and save yourself a lot of hassle.

So, to summarize:

  1. Sneak up behind an idle Reject

The Reject has to be unaware of your presence for the execution to work.

  2. Look down at the ground where the Reject is

This will put your field of view where it needs to be to trigger the Execution button prompt.

  3. Press the B button to trigger the Execution

Doing so will kill the Reject instantly.
