The big Xbox One exclusive of fall 2019 is nearly upon us and you’ll likely want to start playing it as soon as possible. So that you can get your console or PC prepared for the game, here’s everything you need to know about what the install size of Gears 5 is.
You’ll want to know what the size is ahead of time in case you need to delete any other games to give you enough space for Gears 5. Most modern games are pretty large and can take up around 10-15% of your HDD space.
What the Gears 5 Install Size Is
According to the Gears 5 page on the Microsoft Store, the game will come in at 57.72 GB on Xbox One.
Slightly surprisingly, that size is about the same as Gears of War 4 was when it first launched. The last game ended up at over 100 GB once additional patches and new content was released, so you can expect Gears 5’s size to do the same.
Over the weeks and months following the game’s release on Sept. 9, you can expect to see patches and other extra things to be added, which will make the overall install size a bit larger.
If it increases significantly, we’ll be sure to let you know here by updating the install size figure. It might be worth making sure you have enough space for potential updates ahead of time though.
You will also be able to preload Gears 5 early. Game Pass subscribers can add it to their library as of now, but no file will actually download. If you add it to your account though, it should download once it’s available.
That’s everything you need to know about what the install size of Gears 5 is. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite. We’ll also have an extensive wiki guide once the game is out.
