How to Pass Laws in Frostpunk
Frostpunk is the brand new city-builder game from 11 Bit Studios, and it tasks you with keeping a group of refugees alive by building a new society from the ground up. An interesting mechanic introduced in the game is the ability to pass laws after a certain period of time.
After every 18 in-game hours, you’ll be able to pass a new law in the city. All you have to do is click on the weighing scale icon in the bottom right corner of your screen, and then choose a law category to see all your options. At the start, you’ll only have the Adaptation category available. As you play through the main scenario, you’ll eventually reach a point where you can choose between Order or Faith to unlock even more laws.
Most of the law options in Adaptation give you two choices. For instance, one of the first laws lets you choose between enforcing child labor and building child shelters. The former lets you employ children in the coal mines (or any other safe facility), while the latter lets you educate children in shelters. Do note that choosing one or the other could lock you out from other law options and, depending on what you choose, could also affect your Hope and Discontent meters.
