Cross Platform Fortnite on the Switch
Update: Happy days people! Sony has today confirmed that PS4 cross platform play in Fortnite will be possible as of today, Sept. 26. The news was shared via a post on the PlayStation Blog, detailing that the cross-platform play in Fortnite begins as a beta, and will eventually be followed by other titles in the future. This means that Fortnite on the Switch is now cross platform with the PS4.
Fortnite has taken the gaming world by storm and it’s even now on Nintendo’s hybrid console, the Switch. That’s right, people can take their pickaxing battle royale adventures on the go with the Nintendo tablet. Naturally, fans are wondering if you’ll be able to face buddies on other systems, since it’s always funner with friends. Here’s your answer.
As usual, you’ll have the ability to crossplay the game on whatever you choose to play on, but you’ll be kicking others’ butts from different consoles if you want to. Nintendo Switch owners have the ability to face off against players on Xbox One, PC, Mac, and mobile. Fans expecting to crossplay against PS4 users will be disappointed, for sure.
Great news for everybody except PlayStation fans, huh? Sorry to be the bearer of bad news for some of you, though! Keep in mind, of course, that PC players will always have the advantage with the incredibly accurate and fast mouse controls for any shooter game ever.
