The latest Fortnite season is finally here, bringing in a ton of new cosmetics, challenges, and other interesting features. There are some new environmental hazards you also need to watch out for on the battlefield. Here’s everything you need to know about lava and volcanic vents in Fortnite Season 8.

Lava – What You Need to Know

Keeping in line with the new Jungle Templar theme, we’ve got some new tricks and traps we need to watch out for. Lava now flows through some of the areas on the map, and you don’t want to be anywhere near it. This molten rock will scorch your character, leaving them with 1 HP damage per touch.

Moreover, any characters that touch it will bounce off the surface. You also won’t want your snazzy Driftboard in Fortnite anywhere near lava, as it will get destroyed. You’ll find the molten rock flowing from some of the new locations, including the Volcano.

Volcanic Vents – Fortnite Season 8

Volcanic Vents, on the other hand, are another new addition in Fortnite Season 8. Unlike lava, these won’t hurt you and can even give you the extra boost you need to reach new locations.

If you manage to find one in the map, it will propel you or a vehicle into the sky with a gust of hot air. If you need to get to high ground, try locating a Volcanic Vent around the area.

These two new features add another layer of strategy in Fortnite Season 8. If you’re fighting near lava, try pressuring your enemy to trip into it and send them flying. You can also use vents to make a quick escape if you’re pinned down by enemies.

That about covers everything regarding Lava and Volcanic Vents in Fortnite Season 8. If you’re looking for more tips and tricks on the latest season, be sure to check our expansive wiki or search for Twinfinite.
