Fortnite Season 5: How to Level Up Fast

How to Level Up Fast in Fortnite Season 5

Recommended Videos

With Fortnite’s Season 5 introducing challenges that require players to reach set amounts of XP in order to unlock the full Drift outfit, many players are focusing on grinding out XP as fast as possible so they can rep the badass skin. Of course, XP is a little trickier to get than simply ranking up your Battle Pass. However, there are a few things to keep in mind that will help you considerably boost the speed you level up during Season 5 of Fortnite.

Challenges

The first and likely most obvious way to level up fast in Fortnite’s Season 5 is still to do with challenges, so at least you can grind out those Battle Pass tiers at the same time. In order to level up fast in Season 5, you’ll want to make sure you’re completing the minimum number of challenges each week to get that healthy chunk of XP. What’s interesting, however, is that the amount of XP you’ll get for completing each set of weekly challenges in Season 5 begins to increase from week 6 by 1,000 XP. As a result, if you complete the minimum amount of challenges to get the XP boost on week 10, that’s a smooth 10,000 XP right there. That’s 65,000 XP for just keeping on top of the weekly challenges, which we’d assume you’d be completing if you’d bought the Season 5 Battle Pass anyway. Also, don’t forget to keep track of what Daily Challenges you get in Fortnite. Most of them offer 500 XP for completing them, and while it’s not a huge amount, it all adds up. If you’re having trouble completing a Daily Challenge, remember that clicking in the left stick on the lobby screen will allow you to replace daily challenges with another one, so don’t spend ages on one!

XP Boosts (Friend and Personal)

Outside of challenges, there aren’t a whole lot of ways you can get additional XP outside of what you get from simply completing a match. However, making your way up through the tiers of the Season 5 Battle Pass can help boost the amount of XP whether you’re playing on your own or with a friend.

There are Friend and Personal XP boosts you’ll unlock at different stages of the Battle Pass. The Friend XP Boosts grant anyone you play with an XP boost that accumulates with each additional boost you unlock in the Battle Pass. For example, unlocking three 5% Friend XP Boosts will grant a 15% bonus to all match XP for any friends that you play with.

It’s the same kind of principle for the Personal XP boosts, those these grant a much higher XP bonus. However, by playing with friends, you can get the best of both worlds as long as they also have the Season 5 Battle Pass and have unlocked them themselves. As such, focus on climbing up the tiers of the Battle Pass, play with friends, and you’ll be rolling in additional XP.

Good Performances

We’ll give it to you straight. Outside of completing the challenges for the XP rewards, playing with friends, and taking advantage of the XP boosts in Fortnite’s Season 5 Battle Pass, there’s not a whole lot else you can do to level up fast than simply playing well.

At the end of each game, you’ll be given a breakdown of how much XP you’ve earned, and this comes down to the number of kills you get and how long you managed to stay alive for. It’s rarely a ton of XP you’re going to get unless you have a sublime, Ninja-esque performance, but with the XP boosts, it’ll definitely help.
