It may be right towards the end of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing left to do. As part of today’s update, Epic Games has added in Fortnite’s ‘Gnome More War’ secret challenge, which follows on from the ‘For the Bears‘ and ‘No Right to Bear Arms‘ secret challenges.
The good news is that ‘Gnome More War’ simply requires players to land at a single location on the map. Doing so will reward them with 15,000 XP towards their current season Battle Pass level.
How to Complete Fortnite Gnome More War Secret Challenge
First, you’re going to want to join a normal Solo, Duos, or Squads game. Once you’re in and on the Battle Bus, head to the following location marked on the map below.
When you get here, you should find three gnomes and three bears close to one another. A bear with an army hat sits on one side of a small table across from the chief gnome, both holding pencils ready to sign a truce.
Simply stand by this for a matter of seconds and you should see the ‘Truce Celebrated’ challenge complete notification appear in the top left-hand corner of your screen. That’ll tick off the Fortnite ‘Gnome More War’ challenge.
What’s the Story Behind the Bears and the Gnomes?
Earlier on in Chapter 2 Season 2, Epic released two quests ‘For the Bears’ which tasked players with finding honey pots, and another called ‘For the Gnomes’ where you had to find telescopes.
For whatever reason, the two sides clashed on the map and then began to ramp up their preparations for war. This all came to a head in the ‘No Right to Bear Arms’ quest which saw the two sides standing off, arms at the ready.
It appears as though the two sides have come to some sort of an agreement and signed off on a truce in this latest challenge. Another example of weird and wonderful environmental storytelling from Epic.
Outside of that, there really isn’t a whole lot more you need to know on completing Fortnite’s ‘Gnome More War’ secret challenge. Looking for more guides? You can check out our wiki, search for Twinfinite, or have a browse through more of our coverage below.
