If you’ve downloaded Nintendo’s latest mobile release, Fire Emblem Heroes, you may have noticed you’ve got to do quite a few additional downloads in-app. However, it appears that a number of users are running into an error code when trying to initialize these downloads.

When downloading Fire Emblem Heroes’ updates, a number of players are reporting error code 803-003. This is accompanied by the message “A communications error has occurred.” While Nintendo has yet to explain what exactly this issue is, it’s pretty safe to say that the servers are getting hit pretty hard with everyone trying to download Fire Emblem Heroes at the same time.

In order to get around error code 803-003, you’ll want to simply keep retrying. However, it’s quite likely that by constantly pressing you won’t get anywhere. If you back out to the game’s title screen, or just close and reopen the app, you may find that you can establish a connection and avoid error code 803-003. If you’re still seeing the code, it might be worth giving it an hour or so and trying again then.
