Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is actually a remake of the second title in the series, Fire Emblem Gaiden, which released in Japan in 1992. Sadly, the title never made its way to the West, meaning Echoes is the first experience many fans in the U.S. will have with Gaiden. Despite being a remake, however, Echoes is a very different experience from most games in the series, with changes both new and old coming to the game.
