Fire Emblem Echoes: How to Raise Support Relationships

How to Raise Support Relationships in Fire Emblem Echoes

Recommended Videos

Support relationships, a tradition across the Fire Emblem series, returns once again in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. They don’t function exactly the same was as the last two titles Awakening and Fates, however, as there’s no unit pairing in battle and they more closely resemble traditional titles from the series.

Certain units in Fire Emblem Echoes can build relationships with one another, although there’s usually only a few options for each characters. You don’t have a log of each Support Relationship for each character, unfortunately, but the ones that can build relationships usually have some kind of story context tying them together. The easiest way to find this out is to have units fight within one space of one another. After fighting an enemy, if a unit is nearby that someone can build a relationship with, you’ll notice a pink circle pop up around both characters. This means their Support Relationship has been raised. You’ll have to have the two characters fight close to each other enough times to raise the level of the relationship, and view its scene.

There are three levels to each relationship, C, B, and A, and boosting them will increase your unit’s stats when they fight near each other. It’s definitely worth trying to see every scene as they reveal some fun characters moments, and help give you a combat boost. Experiment with your units and see who can build a relationship.
