Cure – Final Fantasy XV
Spells work a bit differently in Final Fantasy XV than they do in other entries. Instead of them being a skill you learn, you actually craft spells in the game using elemental energy you absorb from the world and enemies as well as items to alter their effects. Those items, which serve as Catalysts while spell crafting, help to create new spells that don’t just deliver elemental damage. One of the effects is called Healcast, and it essentially turns your spell partially into Cure, a fan-favorite that is very useful when you find yourself in a pinch with no restorative items (Potions, Elixirs, etc.).
To craft a spell capable of curing you, you will need a Flask, some elemental energy (it doesn’t matter which kind), and one of the following items:
- Potion
- Hi-Potion
- Leiden Potato
- Aegir Root
- Chocobean
- Wild Onion
- Saxham Rice
- Lucian Tomato
- Beetroot
- Killer Tomato
- Cup Noodles
When combined, it will provide a healing effect whenever you cast your spell. So say you make Thunder. Casting Thunder will hurt your enemy while also healing you, much like Cure.
Do note that the effect is only applied to whoever casts the spell. If you equip it to either Gladiolus, Ignis, or Prompto, then they will receive the curative effect, not you. So keep this in mind when crafting and assigning magic to your party.
