Prerequisites to the Shadowbringers MSQ

Before you go rushing into FFXIV Shadowbringers, you’ll need to make sure that you have a job that is adequately leveled and equipped to take on the new content.

This means that you need to at least have a level 70 character to be able to take on the new MSQ. In addition to that, you’ll also need to have completed all of the main story quests in A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, and Stormblood, including the patch content.

Once you have a job at the appropriate level and you’ve completed all story quests up to this point, you’ll then be able to start the MSQ in FFXIV Shadowbringers.

Where to Start the Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers Main Story Quest

To begin Shadowbringers’ main story quest, simply teleport over to Mor Dhona and head to the Rising Stones. There, you’ll find Tataru. Speak with her to start The Syrcus Trench, which is the title of the new main story quest that kicks off the plot in FFXIV Shadowbringers.

From there, the game should provide you with easy quest markers to follow to complete it. Completing this quest will also reward you with a weapon coffer, which gives you a high-level weapon for whichever class you opened it with. Think this through carefully before opening the coffer, as it’s a one-time use item.

That’s all you need to know about where and how to start the main story quest in FFXIV Shadowbringers. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
