Releasing Minions in FFXIV Island Sanctuary

After gaining access to the Island Sanctuary, you’ll first want to go through all of the tutorial quests with the Felicitous Furball. You’ll learn how to gather and craft items, and the Furball will then unlock the Release Minions feature for you.

From the Island Sanctuary menu box, click on the Minions icon, then select an area in the Sanctuary from the new window that pops up. Click on the Select Minion button at the bottom, then select the minions in your inventory that you want to release in that particular area.

You can always recall minions from this menu as well, and do note that you can only have 40 minions around the Sanctuary at any time. You’ll need to recall some of them if you want to release new ones.

Releasing minions in the Sanctuary doesn’t provide any gameplay benefit, but it’s definitely cute to watch all of your collected minions just roam around the island on their own. They’re basically cosmetic decorations you can use to add a bit of flair to your new island, and make it look a bit more populated.

That’s all you need to know about how to release minions in FFXIV Island Sanctuary. Be sure to check out the rest of our FFXIV 6.2 coverage, including our Fell Court of Troia dungeon guide, and how to unlock the new Abyssos raids.
