Can You Play Far Cry New Dawn in Third Person? Answered
Far Cry New Dawn sees you return to Hope County, the setting of Far Cry 5, but it’s quite different to how you might remember it. You may be wondering, therefore, whether how you play the game has also changed. Here’s everything you need to know about whether you can play Far Cry New Dawn in third person.
Ever since the first game in the series released in early 2004, it has generally been a first-person series, with the only exception being the Trials of the Blood Dragon spin-off that was a bike based, side-scrolling title, and also wasn’t very good.
When we went to Africa and the tropical settings of 3 and 4, we once again played in first-person. Possibly disappointing some players, that trends continues because the new game is still only playable in first-person. There is no way of changing to third person.
Since you create you own character in Far Cry New Dawn, it would have been nice to play some of the game in third person so that you can see what they look like, but since all of the game is designed with first-person in mind, it’s understandable that it’s not an option.
You’ll have to stick with when you die being the only time that you can see what your character looks like.
Of course, if that ever changes, with Ubisoft adding the functionality into Far Cry New Dawn or modders adding it on the PC version, we’ll be sure to update you here.
