Is Far Cry New Dawn PS4 Pro Compatible? What You Need to Know

Recommended Videos

The world of Far Cry New Dawn may be a post-apocalyptic wasteland, but it’s one that’s popping with vibrant colors and stunning views. Regardless of what platform you play on, it’s sure to look great, but for those PS4 Pro owners, you may be wondering if Far Cry New Dawn is PS4 Pro compatible.

First off, let’s get the immediate answer out of the way. Yes, Far Cry New Dawn is PS4 Pro compatible. This means you’re likely to see some load time improvements, and generally have a smoother and prettier playing experience with the game than those playing on a standard PS4 or Xbox One.

We know this to be the case, as PlayStation has listed New Dawn as being enhanced on its official page.

Further, we know that playing on a PS4 Pro, you’ll be able to enjoy Far Cry New Dawn in a 4K resolution. Unfortunately, we don’t know for sure whether this is native or checkerboard upscaled, but chances are it’ll be checkerboard upscaled like many games on PS4 Pro.

On top of that, you can also expect the game to look glorious in HDR, adding a ton of additional color depth to the picture quality. It’s worth noting, though, that this isn’t a feature limited to the PS4 Pro, with the standard system also offering HDR compatibility. HDR is just more noticeable when paired alongside a 4K resolution.

Judging from our time with Far Cry New Dawn, we’d estimate that it ran at about 30FPS when running at a 4K resolution. It might not be the 60FPS target many want, but it’s good enough for a single-player shooter nonetheless.
