All Dear Photo Locations in Far Cry New Dawn
Far Cry New Dawn is finally out and what better way to celebrate the release of this new game than by revisiting some iconic locations from its predecessor, Far Cry 5. Here are all of the dear photo locations (A Thousand Words Quest) in Far Cry New Dawn.
With Far Cry New Dawn being the first direct sequel in the franchise’s history, it’s important that it recognizes where it came from. Far Cry New Dawn does this in a very interesting way by tasking players with revisiting locations on the map with a photo of what used to be in that spot back in Far Cry 5.
There are nine photographs in total to find and they’re all over the map (which is smaller than that map of Far Cry 5 so completing this won’t take too long). You’ll know you’ve found a location because there will be a small circular table with a camera sitting on it.
Dear Photo Location 1: John Seed’s Farm
To find this photo, head to the front of Prosperity. Just to the east of it is the camera and table you’re looking for. Pull the photo up (pictured below) and aim to line them up to complete this location.
Dear Photo Location 2: Rye & Daughter Aviation
To find this table, head to the Rye & Daughter Aviation building. Find the house (that Nick used to occupy) and move to the backside of it. There, a hundred feet or so away, you should spot the table you’re looking for.
Dear Photo Location 3: Fall’s End Water Tower
Head to the Chop Shop outpost. From there, head east on the main road and head through the trees until you reach a clearing of land. You should spot what appears to be the remnants of a plane on top of a platform of sorts.
That platform is the water tower you’re looking for. Move toward it until you spot the camera and table.
Dear Photo Location 4: Geothermal Park
In Far Cry 5, one of the cooler locations was the geothermal park where you could find models of mastodons. For this location, head back to that park.
To find it, start in the dead middle of the map and head east until you reach the outskirts. On the map, you can see the outline of the green water that the location is known for. Head there.
Once there, head to western side and look for the camera and table up on a small ledge.
Dear Photo Location 5: Joseph Seed’s Compound
To find this location in Far Cry New Dawn, head to the middle island that once served as the compound for Joseph Seed. Once there, head to the western side and traverse north until you reach a jut of land that doesn’t quite connect to another jut of land.
What you’re looking for here is the famed church from Far Cry 5. Once you’ve found it, approach the front and then head southwest across the water until you’ve found the camera.
Dear Photo Location 6: McKinley Dam
To find this photo, head to the northernmost part of the map. Once there, keep an eye out for the massive dam near the top of the map by the major source of water and at the bottom of it (to the south a bit) is the camera you’re looking for.
Dear Photo Location 7: Gardenview Parking Facility
To find this area, head to the Pantry outpost on the western side of the map. Once there, walk along the main road west until you see a compound with a building outside of it that has a green roof.
Looking at the front of this green-roof building, back up a few hundred feet until you spot a table with a camera on it.
Dear Photo Location 8: Bridge of Tears
Remember the railway that blew up at the start of the game? Head back to that same railway.
Located near the middle of the map, this railway acts as a connection for all areas of Hope County (or at least it used to before it was blown up). Once you’ve found the railway, head upstream (follow the river) and when you’re a few hundred feet away from the railway, you should spot a table with a camera on it on the western bank of that river.
Dear Photo Location 9: Holland Valley Elevator
To find this location, head back to Prosperity in Far Cry New Dawn. Get on the main road and follow it east until you reach the large elevator structure.
It’s just north of the Refinery outpost and right before it, there should be a fork in the road. Get off the main road and follow the smaller road via the fork.
As you progress forward, you should spot the camera on the table you’re looking for.
