How to Get Medkits & Upgrade Them in Far Cry New Dawn

Recommended Videos

Far Cry New Dawn is the first direct sequel of the series, picking up right from the ending of Far Cry 5, in a neon-tinged apocalyptic Hope County. Of course, all the Far Cry gameplay you know and love returns, and that includes how to heal yourself in battle. Here’s how to get Medkits and upgrade them in Far Cry New Dawn.

How to Get Medkits

The easiest way to get Medkits in Far Cry New Dawn is to simply pick them up as you find them. The healing items can be found lying around enemy outposts and other key areas. Of course, you don’t have to rely on chance to get your Medkits, as you can craft them whenever you want.

To craft the items just open your Inventory tab in the menu, then scroll down and highlight the Medkits icon. Just hit the X (A) button to craft, but keep in mind you’ll need the proper materials. For a Medkit you’ll need one blue plant, one yellow plant, and one red plant, which shouldn’t be too hard to find while exploring Hope County in Far Cry New Dawn.

How to Upgrade Medkits

The main way of upgrading kits is by upgrading the Healing Garden in Prosperity, your home base in Far Cry New Dawn. Improving the Healing Garden with Ethanol will increase the efficiency of your Medkits.

The first upgrade will cost 75 Ethanol, and result in kits regenerating health for five full seconds. You can further upgrade the Healing Garden with more Ethanol.

While not necessarily an upgrade, you can increase the number of kits you can hold by purchasing the More Medkits perk from the perk tree, which will cost you three perk points.

Hopefully, that clears up how to get medkits and upgrade them in Far Cry New Dawn. We have plenty of other tips and info on the game you can find by searching Twinfinite, or in our expansive Far Cry New Dawn guide wiki.
