What Are Far Cry 6 AA Guns & Why You Should Destroy Them

Anti-Aircraft Guns are exactly what they sound like. These are enormous cannons found throughout Yara that will destroy any aircraft flying within their range that isn’t part of Castillo’s forces.

You can see the radius of each AA gun by opening up your map and looking for the large red circle. Until an anti-aircraft gun is destroyed in Far Cry 6, you won’t be able to fly in these areas without being shot down, more often than not resulting in death.

All AA Gun Locations

Anti-aircraft gun locations are marked on your map with a cannon icon, shown in the screenshot below.

Open your map, head to each of these locations and you’ll find a large white cannon on the ground, often surrounded by Castillo’s troops.

Destroying Anti-Aircraft Guns in Far Cry 6

To destroy AA guns easily in Far Cry 6, make your way to the marked locations on your map by car or boat. When you arrive, creep up to the anti-aircraft gun itself and equip either remote explosives, a grenade, RPG, or other explosive weapon.

Aim one of your throwables (or explosive weapons) at the AA gun and watch the fireworks commence.

After the Far Cry 6 anti-aircraft gun is destroyed, you can then focus on taking out any enemies in the nearby vicinity. Killing these enemies, however, isn’t necessary to destroy the anti-aircraft gun.

You’re now free to fly your planes or helicopters in the skies above.

That’s everything you need to know on how to destroy AA guns in Far Cry 6. For more tips, tricks and guides on the game, head over to our wiki or see more of our coverage below.
