What’s the Difference Between Story & Action Difficulty?
In Story difficulty, the game states that enemies are weaker and deal less damage. In Action mode, enemies are tougher and deal more damage.
We’d highly recommend playing on ‘Action’ difficulty if you’re familiar with the First-Person Shooter (FPS) genre, as it provides a little bit of a challenge. When we checked out ‘Story’ difficulty for our review, we found that the game was far too easier, with enemies barely dealing any damage to you, even from helicopters and tanks.
Story difficulty is there for exactly what it sounds like. For those who just want to check out Far Cry 6’s story — featuring Giancarlo Esposito as Anton Castillo — but who may not be all that familiar or adept at FPS games.
Is There a Harder Difficulty Setting in Far Cry 6?
Unfortunately, no. Far Cry 6 only comes with these two difficulty settings, and from our time with the game, there doesn’t appear to be a harder difficulty setting unlocked upon beating the main story.
