Far Cry 5: How to Save

How to Save in Far Cry 5

Recommended Videos

Far Cry 5’s open world is very unpredictable. A fierce animal could jump out at you at any moment, you could come across a particularly violent group of cultists as you make your way from location to location, or a freak accident could result in your character’s sudden death. Therefore, you’re going to want to make sure that your progress is saving so you don’t waste too much time. Here’s everything you need to know to save your game.

You’ll know the game is saving when a few small dots appear in the top left-hand corner of the screen. The game autosaves whenever you fast travel, complete a mission, or reach a mission checkpoint, which will be quite regularly. Once the dots have disappeared, you’ll know that the saving has finished.

You can also save your progress manually. All you need to do is press the Options button to bring up the menu, and select save. Once again, the little dots will appear and the saving will be successful once they’re gone.

That’s all you need to know about saving your progress in Far Cry 5. For more on the game, check out our wiki guide.
