What Verdant Season Means and Why it’s Important in Fallout 76

Fallout 76 is the first entry in the series to feature a fully online multiplayer world. Players will be dropped into West Virginia, exploring a brand new wasteland with other vault-dwellers roaming around as well. As you journey through the world, you might have noticed something called a verdant season. Here’s a breakdown of what verdant season means in Fallout 76, and why it’s important.

As you’re playing through Fallout 76, every now and then you might see an onscreen prompt that says, “The verdant season in <insert area name here> has ended.” What this means is that that particular area no longer offers bountiful resources that you can collect in bulk.

Whenever an area or region is undergoing a verdant season, it means that you’ll be able to collect extra resources in that area, which is very handy for players who need to stock up on crafting supplies and resources. Whenever there’s a season active, there will be an onscreen prompt informing you of where to go, so keep an eye on that.

Verdant seasons in Fallout 76 are random, and they’ll cycle through the different regions of the map periodically. At the moment, there’s no way to tell or predict which area will get the bonus effect next, so you’ll just have to pay attention so you know where to go.

While it can be rare to find the good stuff like Stimpaks or proper RadAways, there will be more plants for you to collect in these areas. Some plants can be crafted into cures for specific diseases, so it’s still worth your time to harvest these whenever you can, as long as you’ve got the space and inventory for it.

Once you’re full up on resources, don’t forget to head back to your C.A.M.P and dump your resources into the base module to free up your inventory.

That’s pretty much all you need to know about what the verdant season is in Fallout 76, and why it’s so important to keep track of.
