Fallout 76: How to Tune Into Radio Signals

How to Tune Into Radio Signals in Fallout 76

Recommended Videos

Since Fallout 76 is entirely online, players will be getting most of their lore through radio stations, audio logs, and magazines. This will be your main source of learning about the wasteland throughout your travels in Fallout 76. How does one listen to the radio in a wasteland though? Well, here’s what you need to know about how to find and tune into radio signals in Fallout 76.

How to Find Radio Signals

First off, not every place is going to have a radio signal, it is the wasteland after all. In order to find a station you’re going to have to press circle/B to open up your Pip Boy. From there you’re going to press R2/RT to switch over to the radio tab in the Pip Boy. After getting into the radio section, swap through the available radio stations and click X/A on the signal you want to tune into.

After a small amount of time you will tune into the signal and the transmission will begin.

What Radio Signals Do

Now that you have tuned into a radio signal, what exactly does that do for you? Well, radio signals allow you listen to some music as you scour the wasteland in search of materials or other players. In your travels, however, you may come across some strange and interesting frequencies that will give you quests to complete.

This is a great way to start obtaining quests if you feel lost or simply want to follow a thread you find peculiar. The final thing tuning into a radio station can do for you is give you more background into the wasteland. Sometimes a radio transmission will talk about an event or person that lived during the years you were isolated in the vault below.

Aside from just trying random frequencies from the Pip Boy, the game will also automatically let you know when you have the chance to tune into a new signal. While traveling through the wasteland you will be prompted in the top left hand corner of the screen. This prompt will let you know that you have found a specific signal and that you should tune into it. You tune into this frequency the same way as mentioned above, via the Pip Boy.

And that’s pretty much all you need to know about how to find and tune into radio signals in Fallout 76. Be sure to check our Fallout 76 guide wiki for more tips and information on the game itself.
