How to Heal in Fallout 76
There’s no way that you’re going to survive the Wasteland of Fallout 76 without taking a least a little damage along the way. Here’s how to heal in Fallout 76.
How to Heal
Between radiation poisoning, the wasteland’s most heinous rad roaches, and the ever-present danger of another player engaging you in PVP, it’s vital to know how to quickly recover your health.
Thankfully, healing in Fallout 76 is simple. There’s one surefire way that works well in combat, and another more involved option that lets you choose exactly which items you want to use.
To heal as quickly as possibly, simply press right on the d-pad at any time while exploring the world to use a stimpack. As long as you’ve got a stimpack in your inventory, this method will simply take one from your supply and administer it quickly.
Alternatively, you can press B (Xbox One) / Circle (PS4) to open up your pip-boy. From here, head to the Items tab with L2 and R2, go to Aid, and then select Stimpacks or other items like Healing Salve that provide healing benefits. Press A/ X on them to use.
How to Increase Health
You’re obviously not limited to the amount of health points you start the game with –you’re able to upgrade and increase your health via the game’s progression system.
To increase health, you’ll want to put your perk points into Endurance, as this affects your total Health, the AP drain from sprinting, and your resistance to disease.
Best Healing Items
It’s worth noting that there’s more than one type of stimpack players can use in Fallout 76, which differs from previous games. Now, you’ve got both diluted and super stimpacks.
As you’d expect, diluted ones aren’t quite as powerful, and super stimpacks which are more powerful.
If you’re using the d-pad to quickly take stimpacks, make sure you’re not chewing through super stimpacks if all that’s required is a diluted one. This is a big reason why we’d recommend using your pipboy to select a healing item unless you’re in a rush.
