How to Crouch in Fallout 76

Recommended Videos

Here’s everything you need to know about how to crouch in Fallout 76.

While Fallout 76 is a departure from the classic single-player RPG experience we’ve come to expect from the series, becoming an online focused multiplayer title, most of the gameplay mechanics are still as you remember.

The crafting and base building elements that were divisive in Fallout 4 have made their way over and play quite an important role, and you still roam the wasteland in search of items to pick up and enemies to take on.

When it come to the basic controls, such as crouch, it’s what you’d expect from any Fallout game or most other open world RPGs. To crouch in Fallout 76, so that you’re stealthy, all you need to do is push in the right thumbstick and move around slowly with the left stick.

Also, you’ll see an indictor at the top of the screen. This tells you if you’ve been spotted by an enemy of any kind. If you’re hidden it be yellow, or red if you’ve been detected.

It’d also be good to note that the Agility stat in Fallout 76 is a measure of your overall finesse and reflexes. It affects the number of AP in VATS and your ability to sneak efficiently.

That’s all there is to it for how to crouch in Fallout 76. For more tips and trick on the game, check out our Fallout 76 wiki guide. We have also provided details down below for some other basic Fallout 76 controls.

Other Fallout 76 Basic Controls

Since you’ll always be at the mercy of monsters and other players as you explore Fallout 76’s wasteland, you’ll want to ready to fight at all times. To reload, so that your weapon is all ready to go, press X/Square, for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 respectively.

VATS is also a vital part of Fallout 76’s combat. As you’re exploring the wasteland, you’ll come across quite a few enemies. First of all, you need to press L1 so that you lock on to it. Then, you’ll see a percentage figure that tells you the probability of you hitting the target. VATS drains your AP, though, which you use for sprinting and jumping and you explore, so don’t use it unnecessarily.

Finally, you won’t only be shooting in Fallout 76. To melee, you need to press R1/RB if you have a gun equipped and no grenades equipped. Alternatively, if you have a melee weapon equipped, you can press R2/RT (what you’d usually press to shoot).
