Elden Ring: How to Jump

How to Jump in Elden Ring

Jumping in any Soulsborne game has never been a real necessity, but it’s usually only useful to find that one piece of loot across a small but treacherous gap. However, in Elden Ring, there is more of a need for it as there is all of The Lands Between to explore. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with this guide on how to jump in Elden Ring.

How to Jump in Elden Ring

Unlike some previous Soulsborne games, Elden Ring actually has a dedicated jump button. Pressing X on PlayStation or A on Xbox will allow your character to jump out in the world.

This new change allows for traversal differences that are not seen in previous games, as it doesn’t require the running jump that could easily go askew. This is just another way of showing how Elden Ring shakes up the Soulsborne formula.

It is worth adding that jumping is not exclusive to just your character. While riding Torrent (your mount), it can jump with a double-tap of the X/A button. As an added bonus, Torrent even has the ability to double jump, leading to out-of-the-way places you can reach even on the mount.

This isn’t to say that sprint jumps are a thing of the past. To sprint you still need to hold Circle on PlayStation and B on Xbox while moving. While you are sprinting, hit the new jump button for the mechanic you are a little more accustomed to using. There are certain to be ledges that need the extra boost but, now, sprinting isn’t necessary for ordinary jumps.
