Is Dying Light 2 Cross-Platform? Answered

Dying Light 2 Cross-Platform

While Techland’s latest sequel places a strong emphasis on storytelling throughout a meaty single-player campaign (as we’ve highlighted in our review), it’s the cooperative multiplayer that many fans of the series will remember fondly from the original. It’s no surprise, then, that they want to jump in straight away and play with friends. The question, though, is whether Dying Light 2 cross-platform play is supported. Here’s what you need to know.

Is Dying Light 2 Cross-Platform Play in Dying Light 2? Answered

Unfortunately, Dying Light 2 does not support crossplay between the three platforms it is available on — PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. For those playing the game on PC, for example, you won’t be able to play with your buddies on console. Nor can those with PlayStation share the post-apocalypse with Xbox players.

In fact, you can’t even play with friends who own a different generation of consoles, either. PS4 and PS5 players have entirely different multiplayer ecosystems, and there’s no crossover at all.

Now, Techland has pledged five years of post-launch support for Dying Light 2 following its release, and so there’s every chance the functionality could come to the game somewhere down the line. If anything changes, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

For now, that’s everything you need to know regarding whether there is cross-platform play in Dying Light 2. For more tips, tricks, and guides, head over to our upcoming wiki, search for Twinfinite or see more of our coverage on the game below.
