The main quest on Furrowfield will require you to gather Oak and Leaves, which can be a little tricky to find.
You can get both of these items by destroying the dark wood trees and their foliage in the rain forest/Bodkin Archer area. Destroying a bunch of the trees in these areas should net you enough materials to move on.
This is just one small step on a much larger journey you’ll embark on in DQB2. Gathering materials is a big part of the gameplay loop so you should be doing it as often as your inventory allows.
