How to Get Awoken Skills & Transformations in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is finally out and it has fans diving into the game in order to defend the Dragon Ball timeline from Mira, Towa, and some new evil faces. Once again, you’ll be able to create your very own hero from one of five races – Saiyan, Human, Frieza, Namekian, and Majin. This time around, though, Saiyan’s aren’t the only ones getting some transformation love.

Dimps, the developers of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, have introduced some super transformations for every race and even upped the count for those available to Saiyans. Of course, you won’t just start off with any of these, you’ll have to actually train a bit and earn them.

We’re going to tell you exactly how to earn each one to help you build some powerful creations.

Super Saiyan 1, 2, and 3

Super Saiyan is the yellow-haired, ki-blast throwing, powered-up warrior form of the Saiyan race. This super transformation can easily turn the tide of the fight by giving users more power and speed in an instant, making them a serious threat. To unlock this form you’re going to have to deal with Vegeta while playing as a Saiyan, the prince of the Saiyans, but not his Mentor form that you can find out in Conton City, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2’s hub world.

You’ll need to head to the Capsule Corporation time rift whenever you get the notification that an event is happening there. If you pull up your map you should see a green question mark over the the building. That means Vegeta is waiting to challenge you to a sparring match. Head on over and fight him. He will challenge you again some time later, during which he will mock you for not being able to unleash your true potential.

After this you will be told to speak with Bulma and Trunks. The next time Vegeta arrives he will take you the Super Saiyan skill, but it’s not over. Await his next challenge and he will teach you Super Vegeta as well. You’re now ready to show your enemies why Saiyans are considered a powerful warrior race.

Nimbus

How to Get Awoken Skills & Transformations in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Nimbus is actually the super transformation for Humans, and is unlocked by completing quests for Great Saiyaman and Great Saiyawoman while playing as a human.  They can be found in Hercule’s house to the right of where you spawn in. They’re a bit eccentric, but they mean well as they recruit you to be Great Saiyaman 3 in order to fight for justice and peace.

These quests seem to have the largest break in between them, however, making this a time consuming task, so it’s best to start as soon as you’re granted access to the time rifts (right after completing Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2’s first mission). As you continue to complete quests for them, they’ll eventually recognize your ability and agree to train you.

After a few quests you’ll find yourself able to summon Nimbus and wield the Power Pole just like Goku did as a kid.

Pure Majin

Pure Majin is granted by, you guessed it, Majin Buu, but not in as a mentor. You’re going to have to head to his house which is the northwestern floating rift. Here you’ll find Buu sitting in his lonely house wishing he had a family, and what has to be the most time consuming side quest in all of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

In order to help Buu get a family, you’re going to have to feed him… a lot. Food can randomly be found in Conton City or you can get it from NPCs as you’re exploring. You’ll have to bring it all to Buu to fill up a bar on the upper right hand corner of the screen. Once full, Buu will spawn a mini Majin.

Keep doing this and once Buu has enough members he’ll offer to train you for helping him find a family. That’s when he’ll teach you the Pure Majin super transformation. Essentially, it turns you into Kid Buu from the anime, giving you all of his intense strength and speed.

Golden Frieza

Going Gold is what the Freiza race does. It not only increases your speed and general power for supers and things of that nature, but it also enhances your Ki blasts. To learn this Awoken skill you’ll need to head on over to Freiza’s ship and join the ranks of his army while playing as a member of the Frieza race.

You’ll have to deal with Zarbon first, then Ginyu before Freiza takes note of you and asks you to work directly under him. Complete his side quests and Cooler will show up on the ship asking you to defeat Freiza in his ultimate form. If you succeed, then you will get the Gold super transformation.

Giant Namekian

The final super transformation you can unlock is done by visiting Guru’s House as a Namekian. here you will help Dende and Nail protect the Namkeian Dragon Balls by going on quests. Your enemies will vary between Freiza, Saiyans, the Ginyu Force, and Saibamen. None of the quests are particularly challenging, but after every full round of quests (5-7 each time), you’ll be able to speak to Guru.

On one of these occasions, the large Namekian leader will unlock your ability to become a giant, greatly boosting your physical power while also making you a much larger target. You’ll lose a bit of speed, but it’s a fair trade. You’ll be able to quickly dispatch tough foes in this form, leaving other warriors trembling in your wake.

Potential Unleashed

Now this is an Awoken Skill that can be used by characters of any race, but requires a bit of skill to unlock. In order to obtain this particular transformation, you’re going to have to beat the Super advancement test, which will require you to get a Z-rank on all previous exams (which entails beating things quickly while not taking too much damage). Once you beat the test, you’ll get Potential Unleashed which requires 500 Ki (that’s five bars) to activate, a lot more than any of the standard transformations.

In exchange, you’ll gain increased power and the fastest charging Ki in the game. It’s very useful for those players who rely on super and ultimate attacks to decimate their opponents.
