How to Change Difficulty & All Difficulty Levels in Division 2
The latest Division game lets you play the game comfortably at your own pace. If you’re having a tough time keeping up with the missions, you can tone it down a bit. Here’s how to change difficulty along with all of the different difficulty levels in Division 2.
How to Change Difficulty
Before we go any further, it’s worth pointing out that you must first complete any main or side mission on the ‘Story’ difficulty first before you’ll have the option to replay it at a higher difficulty. We’ve outlined the steps to do this down below.
Changing the difficulty is fairly easy in The Division 2, the option to do so is just tucked away a little bit. What you’ll want to do is before beginning a mission, open up your map with the touchpad on PS4 or View button on Xbox One.
Once you’re in the menu, look for the specific quest you want to change the difficulty for and place your reticle on it. From there, simply hold down the Y button on the Xbox One or the triangle button on the PS4 and this will bring up the option to change the difficulty setting.
It’s worth noting that you can only change the difficulty outside of the mission and not when you’re actually doing it. If you’re already doing the quest, you’ll have to quit it and head back first.
All Difficulty Levels
As for what the difficulty levels are in Division 2, there are three options you can choose from before replaying the campaign:
- Story
- Normal
- Hard
Choosing the more advanced setting will pit you against more of the “veteran” enemies in the game. Similarly, you’ll also get better loot if you choose to play the harder modes in Division 2.
That pretty much covers everything you need to know about how to change difficulty and all of the different levels in Division 2.
