How to Aim Down Sights With a Weapon in The Division 2
Combat is the main focus of The Division 2, currently out now for Gold or Ultimate edition owners and Friday, March 15 for everyone else. It is important to know how to use your weapon well, such as aiming down the sights of a gun. Here is how to aim down sights with a weapon in The Division 2.
“Aiming down the sights,” or ADS, of a weapon means to raise the gun up towards your face and see through the iron sights or scope of the weapon to control where the shot is going to travel to. In first-person shooters, it is usually the left trigger or right mouse click/hold to go into ADS mode.
The Division 2 is a third-person shooter where your character is onscreen at all times, so aiming the left trigger or right mouse click/hold will bring the camera in behind the left or right shoulder of your character and a reticle will appear in the middle of the screen.
When you hold down the aim button, the reticle will get a little smaller, allowing you to be a little more precise and accurate with your shots. However, there’s no real way to aim down sights in the first-person sense that you’re probably thinking of.
The only time to go into a first-person view for aiming is with a Marksman Rifle that is equipped with a magnification scope. Then the scope will take up the entire screen.
Whenever you pick up a Marksman Rifle in The Division 2, you’ll be able to aim down sights with that weapon type whenever you have it equipped.
