How to Play Arena Mode in Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition
Divinity Original Sin 2 was one of the most celebrated games of 2017, and now just as the first one did back in 2015, the Definitive Edition brings the experience to consoles. Don’t think this is just a port with a fancy name, though; the Definitive Edition packs new story content, streamlined inventory systems, and an overhaul to the Arena Mode that launched with the original PC version. There are two different ways you can play the Arena-style gameplay, both separately and within your main story campaign. Here’s how to go about accessing both forms of the Arena Mode in Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition.
When you boot up Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition, you’ll notice the Arena Mode option from the main menu. Playing the mode is as a simple as selecting that option. From there, you can choose to either play solo, with up to four buddies in couch co-operative, or join/host an online session.
This separate version of the Arena Mode is the overhauled version unique to the Definitive Edition that introduces 16 characters, each with their own unique skills and abilities, including the likes of Malady, Zandalor, and Radeka. There are different modes you can play within the arena, such as Classic Death Match, Kill the King.
These can be played across 13 different maps. There are various chests that can be looted for special items, and mutators alter your characters special abilities during.
If you’re enjoying your main campaign but still want to experience Arena-style gameplay, there are various Arenas dotted throughout the game that offer you a chance to level up your characters and challenge yourself to some tough strategic gameplay. There’s even an Arena in the very first area of the game: the Fort Joy Ghetto. Beating these Arenas within the story crowns you champion of that particular Arena.
That’s all you need to know about how to play arena mode in Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition.
