When Does the Season of the Drifter Start in Destiny 2

Recommended Videos

Starting with the Forsaken expansion, the seasons in Destiny 2 have become more structured and themed around the annual pass content. Season of the Forge, for example, was all about the Black Armory. If you’re here, you’re likely wondering when the Season of the Drifter starts and will kick off Joker’s Wild.

Joker’s Wild is the second of three planned Annual Pass content updates in Destiny 2. Rather than do mini-expansions, which have been incredibly hit or miss over Destiny’s existence.

And if we’re being real, it’s mostly been all misses other than House of Wolves, and to a much lesser extent, Warmind.

Anyway, so far, the Annual Pass content hasn’t been without controversy, but overall it’s been a much better experience. Black Armory was very focused on endgame content for hardcore players, and the Season of the Drifter’s Joker’s Wild update will likely add more stuff for PvErs, as well as new Gambit content.

The Season of the Drifter doesn’t have an official lockdown start date, but as far as we know, Joker’s Wild is still on track for March 2019 at some point. The launch of Joker’s Wild will begin the Season of the Drifter, unless Bungie decides to do something very unexpected.

Considering the big break up with Activision, it’s more possible that the plans could change, but as far as we know, the annual pass content is still on track. Anything after that though, your guess is as good as ours.

That does it for when the Season of the Drifter starts in Destiny 2. When we have a firm launch date, we’ll update this post.

TLDR;

Question: When the Season of the Drifter starts in Destiny 2?

Answer: One of the Tuesdays in March of 2019. We don’t know the exact date quite yet.
