destiny 2 how to get the other half

Destiny 2’s Bungie 30th Anniversary event has finally arrived and it is, to the surprise of some, actually turning out to be quite the banger. Dares of Eternity is very fun, the new dungeon is challenging and interesting, and most importantly, there’s a lot of worthwhile new loot to chase. Perhaps two of the most interesting additions are the new swords and their unique perks. In this guide, we’ll go over how to get The Other Half legendary sword in Destiny 2.

How to Get The Other Half in Destiny 2

One weird thing about the new Bungie 30th Anniversary event in Destiny 2 is that they add a bunch of Halo-inspired weaponry that stops just short of being actual Halo weapons since, well, Bungie doesn’t run Halo anymore. Still, it’s clear that The Other Half, together with the other legendary sword, Half-Truths, is a reference to Halo’s famed Energy Sword.

Getting The Other Half legendary sword isn’t super difficult, but it will potentially require a little help from the RNG gods. The Other Half comes from Xur’s Treasure Chest in his Horde. You need Treasure Keys to open up the Chest in Xur’s Horde and each time you crack it open, you’ll get one of the new 30th-anniversary event legendary weapons that aren’t tied to Grasp of Avarice.

We have a guide for farming Treasure Keys if you’re not sure how to do that, but the short answer is that you can get Treasure Keys from farming Dares of Eternity as you get a guaranteed drop from the successful completion of one.

What makes The Other Half stand out compared to other swords is that it comes with a new, very interesting perk, Eager Edge. Eager Edge dramatically increases your lunge range for a short moment while switching to this weapon. Meaning, you can potentially dive on opponents much easier in PvP, and/or abuse Eager’s Edge as a Dawnblade to skate even further/faster than ever before.

That’s all you need to know for how to get The Other Half in Destiny 2 during the Bungie 30th Anniversary event. For more tips, tricks, and guides on the 30th-anniversary event or the most recent major expansion, head over to our wiki or check out the links below.
