Destiny 2 Shadowkeep has finally arrived, and players are busy fighting off the darkness on the Moon alongside Eris Morn. It’s all quite dark and sinister, but there’s powerful and exotic gear up for grabs, so of course we’re going to dive in and grind out our Power Level. Here’s what the Destiny 2 Shadowkeep soft level cap is, what the term means, what the max level cap is, and more.
Destiny 2 Shadowkeep Soft Level Cap Explained
The term ‘soft level cap’ basically means that while you may not have hit the very maximum power level your Guardian can reach, any more grinding out to increase your Power is going to get increasingly more difficult. There’s also generally less bang for your buck in terms of how much more powerful each increase makes you.
In the case of Destiny 2, when you reach the soft level cap, you’ll stop getting blue and legendary drops that are higher than your highest possible power level.
What Destiny 2 Shadowkeep’s Soft Level Cap Is
Destiny 2 Shadowkeep’s soft level cap is 900. This is a bit of a significant leap up from the previous max level cap of 750. Fortunately, it’s not all that difficult to reach this soft level cap just by playing through Shadowkeep.
How to Raise Power Level Fast
Simply put, you want to focus on just playing through the main story missions to begin with. Just by doing this, you’ll be able to open up a few Exotic quests, and generally gear drops will see your Power level jump up significantly thanks to generous drops.
When trying to reach the soft level cap, you’ll be able to complete public events, take on Lost Sectors, and just take on strikes, Gambit and Crucible matches and defeat enemies to get gear that’ll help bring you closer to that glorious 900.
Once you’ve hit Shadowkeep’s soft level cap, it then becomes a little bit trickier. You’ll want to focus on Powerful drops which are marked on your map and Director, or taking on weekly milestones that give you powerful engrams.
Things like taking on new exotic quests, collecting the Ritual Weapons which replace last season’s Pinnacle Weapons, getting Powerful engrams as Clan rewards and completing weekly milestone and nightfall strikes and the Garden of Salvation raid.
What Destiny 2 Shadowkeep’s Max Power Level Cap Is
Destiny 2 Shadowkeep’s max power level is 960, which will take a good amount of grinding out Shadowkeep’s new content to reach. It shouldn’t be too tricky to reach 920 once you’ve got your methods down, which will be enough to then take on the new Raid, Garden of Salvation.
This will then become one of your best bets for getting powerful gear that’ll help you push up towards 960. Of course, Bungie is sure to bring more content in the near future that’ll give players more opportunities to grind out existing and new powerful gear, too, so be sure to make the most of these when they pop up.
900
