How to Beat the Royal Beast in Prestige Leviathan Raid in Destiny 2
The Royal Beasts weren’t anyone’s favorite in the Destiny 2 Leviathan Raid. It requires solid communication and for everyone to move as a unit. If you can believe it, Bungie has managed to make this even more difficult. But don’t worry, the mechanics are still the same, and the health of the Royal Beasts doesn’t seem to be much higher than before, so that won’t be too much of an issue. What is an issue is the fact that there are now eight dogs instead of one (seriously).
The general strategy is still the same. Pick two people to handle the Prisms and four people to deal with the stealth component on the bottom. Before grabbing the Prisms, assign dogs. A strategy that worked for us was taking all the dogs except for cave and tree. After killing your individual dogs, the people on your side will run to the cave or tree (depending on which side you’re on) for the final kill.
While it is possible to one shot the dogs if you get four or five stacks of the buff, it’s safer to do two runs of three or four stacks, making sure not to kill anything on the first run. Instead, bring your dogs as close to death as possible.
Merciless, Legend of Acrius, and It Stares Back do really well. As far as supers go, one bangs do really well such as Void Bomb and Golden Gun. Grenades (especially ones that last) are useful for burning them down as well.
As far as the pathing for the two dogs that are added, they run along the front and down the middle (between cave and tree). They actually don’t change up anything too much so it’s not too difficult a change. For the people with the Prisms, there is now a third door that snipers could possibly come out of. But again, not a difficult change.
This is the part of the raid that stays pretty much exactly the same. So patience, not getting seen by dogs, and getting that buff will make this a fast part of the Prestige Leviathan Raid in Destiny 2.
