Using Emotes in Destiny 2

Recommended Videos

Emotes are back in Destiny 2, and this time, you don’t have to spend real money to get them if you don’t want to. You can find them as Bright engrams out on the battlefield and unlock them that way.

Similar to the original Destiny, your Guardian can perform different emotes by pressing the directional buttons on the d-pad. Pressing up will allow you to wave, pressing down lets you sit, pressing left lets you point straight ahead, while pressing right lets you dance.

If you want to communicate with your fireteam without team chat, the pointing emote can be pretty handy when it comes to directing your allies to where you want them to go. The emote set to your right button on the d-pad can also be swapped out for other emotes you’ve unlocked in the game. Aside from communicating with your team, emotes are generally just fun to use when you’re hanging around the social spaces with other online players.
