Destiny 2: How to Get Half-Truths Legendary Sword

Destiny 2’s Half-Truths Legendary Sword is one of the new weapons introduced as part of the event celebrating developer Bungie’s 30th-anniversary. Alongside a number of other Halo-inspired weapons, Half-Truths gives Destiny 2 players a taste of the Energy Sword, missing one of the icy-blue energy blades on one of its sides. Either way, it still looks cool, so you probably want to know how to get it yourself.

Half-Truths is clearly inspired by the Halo series’ Energy Sword. Its icy blue blade is certainly reminiscent of the melee weapon held so many times by Master Chief. Given it’s such an iconic weapon, chances are you’ll want to go around slicing through enemies with it in Destiny 2, too.

Getting Half-Truths in Destiny 2

To get Half-Truths, you’ll need to go to Xur’s Treasure Hoard and open a treasure chest that’s right next to him.

You can get to Xur’s Treasure Hoard by opening your Director and selecting ‘Eternity.’ This is just below the moon and to the bottom left of the Tower in the center of the map.

The treasure chest you need to open, however, requires you to have a Treasure Key.

Getting a Treasure Key

To get a Treasure Key, you’ll need to complete the Dares of Eternity challenge, also found within ‘Eternity’ on your Director.

This is a 6-player co-operative, ‘offensive’ challenge where players must fill a progress bar by defeating wave after wave of enemies.

Once the bar is filled, a final boss will be summoned who, when defeated will leave behind a chest. This chest will contain a Treasure Key, among other items.

Using the Treasure Key to Get Half-Truths in Destiny 2

With the Treasure Key, return to Xur’s Treasure Hoard and walk over to the chest in front of him. Press Square on PlayStation, X on Xbox, or E on PC to interact with and open the chest.

This chest doesn’t guarantee you Half-Truths, though. It’s an RNG chest that will award you one of the legendary 30th anniversary Halo weapons added into the game.

If you don’t get it the first time, complete a Dares of Eternity challenge to get another Treasure Key and try again.

That’s everything you need to know on how to get Half-Truths in Destiny 2. For more tips, tricks, and guides on the 30th-anniversary event or the most recent major expansion, head over to our wiki or check out the links below.
