How to Get 1000 Yard Stare in Destiny 2

In addition to adding a bunch of Halo-inspired weaponry to Xur’s Treasure Horde to celebrate Bungie’s 30th anniversary, a handful of weapons from the first Destiny are being added to Destiny 2. 1000 Yard Stare was an extremely popular sniper rifle from the first game. It was effective in both PvE and PvP, but PvP is where it really shined and I have a sneaking suspicion that it will continue to be a nuisance in Destiny 2’s PvP scene.

You won’t be able to press your luck in Dares of Eternity for Treasure Keys to get this weapon, though. No, in order to get 1000 Yard Stare you’ll have to purchase the Bungie 30th Anniversary DLC, grab two buddies, and tackle the new dungeon, Grasp of Avarice.

We don’t want to get into any spoilers about the new dungeon, but the summary is that 1000 Yard Stare is a possible drop from the encounters in Grasp of Avarice. At the time of this writing, the loot is a bit screwy and Bungie will be fixing it soon. So we want to wait until the update goes live before confirming exactly which encounter it drops from, but yes, we can confirm that the weapon comes from Grasp of Avarice.

That’s all you need to know for how to get 1000 Yard Stare in Destiny 2’s 30th Anniversary event. For more on Destiny 2, check out all of our latest content about the 30th Anniversary event right here.
