Destiny 2: Forsaken is out and perhaps the biggest and most noticible addition is that of The Dreaming City, a new endgame area with a host of new secrets. Some of these secrets you can see with your own eyes, like cute mysterious cat statues that want gifts. Others, such as the Ascendent Realm, can only be seen under certain conditions. That’s where your mysterious tincture of Queensfoil that you probably got on accident is for.

Tincture of Queensfoil can be obtained randomly throughout gameplay in The Dreaming City. We can confirm that completing Petra’s bounties and looting Lost Sectors are ways that you can get more Tincture of Queensfoil in Destiny 2: Forsaken.

The description lets you know that when used, you’ll be able to “open your mind to the secrets of The Dreaming City, and thus, see things you normally wouldn’t be able to see without it. We’re not 100% sure about every single use for Tinctures of Queensfoil yet, but we do know of at least one. When used, you’ll be able to see large Taken portals that would otherwise be hidden in certain areas of The Dreaming City, such as Lost Sectors. These portals take you to the Ascendent Realm from the main campaign, and are a part of the weekly Ascendent Realm challenges that can be obtained by Petra via one of her weekly bounties.

These challenges can be tough. As of the time of this writing, we’ve only got to experience one. Ideally, you’re at least around 520 power level, but future Ascendent Challenges may require you to be even higher depending on the nature of the challenge. For example, this week you mostly just needed to be mobile, and dodge enemies, but if in the future you need to attack, being 520 might not cut it in terms of damage and armor.

That does it for how to get Queensfoil & what Queensfoil does in Destiny 2: Forsaken. If we discover more uses for it, we’ll be sure to update this post. Be sure to check out our wiki guide for more tips and tricks.
