How to Get Finest Matterweave in Destiny 2: Forsaken
The Forsaken expansion is finally available for Destiny 2 players, and Guardians will get to dive into a new story where they have to hunt down the space jerks who killed everyone’s favorite Hunter Vanguard, Cayde-6. Before that, though, you might want to upgrade your weapons with some Masterwork Cores, and one of the best ways to get Cores is by using a consumable item called the Finest Matterweave.
Finest Matterweave is a brand new item introduced with Destiny 2’s Forsaken update, and it functions a little similarly to Three of Coins from the original game. However, while Three of Coins only increased your chances of getting an Exotic drop from each elite kill, the Finest Matterweave gives you a guaranteed Masterwork Core drop on your next elite kill. After getting your Core, the buff wears off, and you’ll need to use another consumable to get the buff again.
At the moment, the only way to actually get the Finest Matterweave in Destiny 2 is through a “lucky dismantle.” This means that you can only get it by dismantling your weapons and armor. Like with most material drops, you’ll have a better chance of getting a Matterweave by dismantling high level gear and Legendary or Exotic equipment.
Once you get it, the item will appear as a purple Legendary consumable in your inventory. All you have to do is open up your inventory screen in Destiny 2: Forsaken, select the Finest Matterweave to use it, and you’re good to go. After killing your next yellow bar elite enemy, you’ll be rewarded with one Masterwork Core, which can be used to infuse your gear and bring them up to a higher Power level.
That’s pretty much all you need to know about getting the Matterweave. Be sure to check our wiki for more information on Destiny 2 and the Forsaken expansion.
