In typical fashion, developer Arkane Studios’ new IP features innovative design across both its gameplay mechanics and progressions systems. In turn, that also means getting to grips with everything can prove a bit of a challenge. Here we’ll be breaking down how to use Trinkets in Deathloop and what they do.
Trinkets are supernatural artifacts that apply different Perks to either your weapons or the player. Trinkets are perks that enhance existing abilities or add completely new ones. All types of Trinkets have a Quality level, which determines the strength of their effects. There are four levels of quality: Grey, Blue, and Purple.
Examples of Weapon trinket effects include increased magazine size, reduced recoil, and better accuracy when shooting from the hip. Examples of character trinkets include double jump, increased health regeneration, and faster stealth takedowns.
How to Use Trinkets in Deathloop
As you will likely have already noticed when playing the opening hours of Deathloop, you aren’t able to access your inventory while exploring an area of Blackreef Island. Instead, you’ll select everything you want to take with you before leaving the tunnels from the ‘Loadout’ screen. It’s here that you can equip trinkets to both your weapons and character. This can be done either by selecting an available slot, as shown in the image above.
Of course, you’ll lose every Trinket you have picked up at the end of each day unless you infuse using Residuum you have collected. If you aren’t familiar with the infusion process then check out our dedicated guide explaining it here.
