death stranding, kojima, porters, trade

Sam Porter Bridgers is an errand boy by trade. A Porter, to be specific, whose job it is to deliver valuable supplies to isolated outposts around America. He can utilize a network of other Porters for just that purpose. Here’s how to trade with Porters in Death Stranding.

Trading with other Porters is unlocked during Death Stranding’s second episode when you’re given a bit more freedom to explore the open-world and are slowly introduced to new mechanics and systems.

Trading will become an important tool as you seek new resources to build various structures and fabricate new equipment on your journey. Rather than having to scavenge for everything, donating and claiming weapons, equipment, and materials from various outposts will lessen the legwork.

How to Trade with Porters in Death Stranding

To trade with other Porters/players, you’ll need to access a Share Locker at either a Distribution Center or a Postbox. The former can be found throughout the open-world and within any major city — you’ll have encountered one very early on in Death Stranding and they all look exactly the same.

Postboxes, too, are found across the open-world and in even more regularity than Distribution Centers. That’s because both you and other players can build them with your PCC device.

Once you have located or built an appropriate facility (Distribution Center/Postbox), follow these steps:

Time needed: 2 hours

  1. Access the facility’s Terminal by pressing and holding the Square button when you see the prompt.

  2. Cycle to “Share Locker” option.

  3. You now have two options: Donate Weapons & Equipment, Claim Cargo. Depending on what you want to do, choose either of these options.
